Don’t be afraid of rejection or failure, these aspects are what success is.
I was born in California and moved to Peru shortly thereafter. At 8 years old, I moved back to California, not knowing any English. After some time, my family decided to move to Washington. After going through many lessons and dedicating a lot of time, I was finally fluent in English in my last year of middle school. By the year 2020, I graduated from Steilacoom High School. During my childhood and teenage years, I learned the importance of being kind, honest, and grateful for every opportunity that presents itself. Currently, I’m attending Pierce College to obtain my bachelor’s in Biology and eventually will go to Medical School.
My first job was at a family-owned restaurant where the owners and coworkers made the environment feel like family. Although I was let go along with most of the staff due to the pandemic, I learned valuable skills such as multitasking, handling pressure, practicing patience, and effectively communicating with difficult customers. Seeking opportunities to further develop my skills and gain new experiences, I landed a job at another family-owned business as an assistant/cashier. Although different from my previous job, I found that many of the skills I had learned at the restaurant applied to this new role. The owners and coworkers at this business were welcoming, and during my time there, I honed my organizational and communication skills while gaining valuable experience in customer service and sales.
While I enjoyed my time at the family-owned business, I was ready for a new challenge and decided to pursue a job at FedEx as a package handler. The physical nature of the job initially intimidated me, but I was determined to prove to myself that I could handle it. I quickly learned that the job required not only physical strength but also attention to detail, teamwork, and effective time management skills.
Overall, I believe that my previous work experiences have prepared me well for my current role at Alliance West Insurance. I’m grateful for the lessons I’ve learned along the way, and I’m excited to continue growing and learning personally and professionally as I help our clients protect the things that matter most to them.
In my free time, I enjoy a variety of hobbies. One of my favorite hobbies is participating in sports, which allows me to connect with others who share similar interests. I also enjoy spending time with my friends, whether it’s going out to eat or trying out new activities. Being outdoors is another hobby that I find relaxing. Whether it is hiking, biking, or just taking a leisurely walk, I always feel refreshed after spending time in nature. Lastly, I enjoy watching movies with my family. It’s a great way to unwind and spend quality time together.
